Mustazzola of msi
Instructions
The doses are for about 60 cookies.
Make toast almonds in the oven, without peel but clean with a damp cloth, then chop finely.
Sift together on pastry flour and yeast, the fountain, add the crushed cloves, a pinch of cinnamon, almonds and sugar: mix well all ingredients together in small quantities of warm water until a dough of right consistency.
When the dough is smooth and really well-crafted, with a rolling pin roll out a sheet with stencils like form made of biscuits.
Place on a buttered and floured and plate with a fork from sharp incideteli prongs on the surface forming lines (or drawings with a sugar glaze: powdered sugar did dissolve in cold with slightly beaten egg white with a fork).
Passed the ' mustazzola ' in vivo heat oven (190° c) and Cook 20 minutes.
These modest, hard biscuits, but good, were already known in the 15th century and their name is now recorded in the oldest Sicilian vocabulary.
With the same name there are other treats in various areas of Sicily, but these vary anywhere for ingredients and shape, which many times is inspired by figures or flowers.
