Chocolate Orange cake
Instructions
Cut the butter into pieces and let it soften in warm environment.
Break the eggs into a bowl, add sugar and mount them with the electric mixer until they become clear and foamy.
Add the butter and continue to work the mixture with the whisk until everything is well blended and smooth.
Mix the flour with the baking powder and add to the dough by dropping it a little at a time to be sieved and mixing with a wooden spoon with a movement from top to bottom.
Add the grated orange zest and stir again.
Squeeze the oranges, pour half of the juice in a saucepan and heat it slightly.
Mix the cocoa and add this mixture to the mixture.
Pour the rest of the juice in saucepan to retrieve all cocoa and pour it into the bowl.
Work the mixture with the whisk for another minute to mix well all ingredients.
Grease a pan with a diameter of 26 cm, foderatela with baking paper (a disk and a strip), grease it and pour the mixture that is rather fluid.
Put the cake in the oven heated to 180 degrees above and let it cook for about three quarters of an hour.
Let cool, remove from pan and sprinkle it with powdered sugar and candied orange peel.
Wish you can accompany the cake with an orange Marmalade diluted with a little sugar water.

- 375 g of sugar
- 250 g of butter
- 250 g of flour
- 5 large eggs
- 5 tablespoons of cocoa
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla baking powder
- 2 untreated large oranges
- For garnishing:
- Orange zest confit
- Icing sugar
- Orange marmalade
