Chocolate Donut (Ciambella al Cioccolato)
Instructions
Turn on the oven to 180 degrees.
Grease a pan for Donuts (with hole) and sprinkle with flour.
In a bowl mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, sugar and water, Add vanilla, vinegar and olive oil and mix the ingredients very well (possibly using a whip) so as not to form lumps.
Pour the mixture into the cake tin and bake for 40 minutes.
Then let it cool, turn the mold onto a serving dish and cover the cake with the glaze.
To prepare the glaze: Stir icing sugar, cocoa, butter and a bit of hot water until a smooth cream (more water using more icing is runny: do so beware!
Ingredients and dosing for 4 persons
- 1 1/2 cup of flour
- 1 sachet of baking powder
- 3 tablespoons of cocoa powder
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 ampoule of vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of white wine vinegar
- 1/2 cup of olive oil extra virgin
- For the frosting:
- 1 cup of icing sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp of cocoa
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- Hot water
