Instructions

Pour the tomatoes into a pot, add the salt, a pinch of sugar, garlic and cook covered on low flame for about half an hour without stirring.

Then with a wooden spoon mash the tomatoes.

Cook for another 15 minutes.

Set aside and let cool.

Season the sauce with the chopped Basil and oil.

Using fresh tomatoes just the first half hour of cooking.
