Clean the fennel by removing the stems and green leaves.
Wash them, divide them in half and very thinly slice them up.
Fry the sliced onion in a large skillet with the butter and oil.
Lay the fennel, gently rigirateli and sbriciolatevi above the nut.
Add salt, cover with water and let them simmer for about half an hour over low heat, after putting the lid that you shall put in the last 10 minutes of baking.
