Instructions

Pour the wine into a saucepan, add an orange where you skewered the cloves, cinnamon, zest and juice of 2 oranges, sugar and grated nutmeg.

Heat everything until the sugar has dissolved, then remove from heat and leave to infuse for 30 minutes.

Then strain the wine and cook again.

To the boil add the brandy.

Garnish with sliced kumquats and serve piping hot.
